A Bit About Me
Marc Slawson is the Founder and Director of Development for CHA, with over 15 years of coaching and skill development expertise. Currently serving as the Assistant Coach for the Niagara IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League, Marc has a rich history in minor hockey, where he has achieved remarkable success, including an OHL Cup, two OHF Provincial Championships, and six GTHL Championships.
His dedication has helped numerous players advance to the CHL, NCAA, and NHL, nurturing future leaders in the sport. As a skills coach, Marc prioritizes building personal relationships with his clients to foster effective skill development and create long-term player development plans.
Marc believes creating a fun environment for training and practice is essential for fostering a growth mindset among participants. By encouraging open communication and positive engagement, individuals can build strong bonds with one another, which enhances collaboration and learning. Incorporating tough love and constructive correction helps maintain high standards while ensuring that everyone feels respected and valued. Ultimately, a supportive atmosphere where education is prioritized leads to personal and collective growth, making the training experience both enjoyable and impactful.
